calendar, but it starts at new moon. It is the same for the months, which

The Chinese signs of the zodiac refer to animals. But the particularities
ascribed to each one are somewhat different from our western ideas. Thus,
in Chinese astrology, the Snake or the Rat can represent good powers whereas

sometimes the year of the "mouse". The "buffalo" is also called "ox". The
"hare" can be replaced by the "rabbit" or the "cat". The "goat" can be replaced
by the "sheep". And the "pig" can be replaced by the "hog".
